DESPISE THE SHAME

The prophet declared
“For to us a child is born
To us a son is given”
That through Him man may be restored.

An angel spoke saying
“You will be with child and give
Birth to a son and you are
To call Him Jesus”.

One, born out of shame
A background with false fame
Ancestry of great sin
Disqualified by the law.
A city with no prestige
The dwelling of His parents was.
No good the tag given
Yet testimony not fathomable.

A ministry from above
Message of life
Deeds worth emulating
The life He led on earth.

Sacrifice His goal
Redemption the purpose
Reconciliation intended
That all men may be restored.

Mighty were His works
Marvellous His deeds
Authoritative His words
Humble His nature.

Extraordinary His ways
So that impossible
His message was to believe
Because similarity was absent.

Ye to those who believed
Power to be sons He gave
That His purpose
May be achieved.

A call He left
Task was given
That His all
Be made known to all.

Look not on the shame
For that is the fame
Conceive not His personality
That His all will be received.
